Italy Aguilera is a visual artist born and raised in Mexico City, based in New York City where she works as a teacher at the Textile Arts Center and as a costume designer for independent films. She is part of the artist collective Flux Factory.

 

Her work has been shown in art spaces in Mexico (Islera, El Arenero, Zona Maco,) New York (Flux Factory on Governors Island, LaMaMa Galleria, Textile Arts Center,) Portland (Carnation Contemporary,) among others. In 2023, she presented her project "Love Bug" at the Forecast Forum 8 in Berlin, and was an artist in residence at Platform in Vaasa, Finland, where for 3 months she developed the project One Million Undresses and had an exhibition showcasing the result of her work. This year, she co-curated the exhibition The Golden Colonel alongside Heather Kapplow at Flux Factory on Governors Island and her work was shown in the Quinceañerx group show at Textile Arts Center.
